I completed my Occupational Therapy degree at The University of South Australia and have been practicing in Adelaide for over 10 years. I have completed further training through Flinders University for Driver Assessment and can provide both therapeutic interventions to regain essential skills for driving alongside on-road assessment for licensing.
I have had various roles in both disability and aged care. This has provided me with experience in a variety of settings and funding schemes, including government roles, not-for profit and within the private sector.
I have experience working in the following areas:
- Home Care Packages
- NDIS
- Residential Aged Care Facilities
- Palliative Care
- Outpatient Falls and Balance Clinic
- Transitional Care Program and Rehabilitation services
- Service coordination & Home Care Package management
- Manual handling training
- Individual and group based exercise programs
I am passionate about providing person centred approaches to people living with dementia and working with them and their families to maintain a sustainable care environment. I also have specific interests in pressure injury prevention and management, home modifications and assistive technology including wheelchair and seating assessments.
I highly value my skills as an Occupational Therapist to observe and analyse tasks to determine the cause of difficulties and guide the path towards independence.
I maintain current certificates in elder abuse prevention, infection control, COVID-19, CPR and first aid and have police and working with people with disabilities clearances.
